Eye Witness Testimony
1 Corinthians 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and HIM CRUCIFIED.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Power of Darkness
Luke 22:53 [Jesus said] When I was daily with you in the temple, you stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
Luke 22:54 Then took they him, and led [him], and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.
Luke 22:63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote [him].
Luke 22:64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck you?
Luke 22:65 And many other things blasphemously they spoke against him.
Luke 22:66 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
Luke 22:67 Are you the Christ? tell us. And he said to them, If I tell you, you will not believe:
Luke 22:68 And if I also ask [you], you will not answer me, nor let [me] go.
Luke 22:69 Hereafter will the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
Luke 22:70 Then said they all, Are you then the Son of God? And he said to them, You say that I am.
Luke 22:71 And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
They All Cry Out “Crucify Him”
Matthew 27:1 When the morning came, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:
Matthew 27:15 Now at [that] feast the governor wanted to release to the people a prisoner, whom they would.
Matthew 27:22 Pilate said to them, What will I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? [They] all say to him, Let him be crucified.
Luke 23:20 Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spoke again to them.
Luke 23:21 But they cried, saying, Crucify [him], crucify him.
Luke 23:22 And he said to them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let [him] go.
Matthew 27:20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
Luke 23:23 And They Were Instant With Loud Voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.
Matthew 27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but [that] rather a tumult was made, He Took Water, And Washed [His] Hands Before The Multitude, Saying, I Am Innocent Of The Blood Of This Just Person: See You [To It].
Matthew 27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood [be] on us, and on o ur children.
Matthew 27:26 Then released he Barabbas to them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered [him] to be crucified.
Road to Calvary
John 19:16 Then delivered he him therefore to them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led [him] away.
John 19:19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put [it] on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
John 19:20 This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was near to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, [and] Greek, [and] Latin.
John 19:21 Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
John 19:22 Pilate answered, What I Have Written I Have Written.
Mat 27:27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered to him the whole band [of soldiers].
Mat 27:28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.
Mat 27:29 And when they had braided a crown of thorns, they put [it] upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
Mark 15:19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and spit on him, and bowing [their] knees worshipped him.
Mat 27:31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify [him].
John 19:17 And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called [the place] of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
Mat 27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross.
Luke 23:27 And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.
Luke 23:33 And when they came to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
Mat 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments…
John 19:23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also [his] coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
John 19:24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it will be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
Mat 27:36 And sitting down they watched him there;
Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Mat 27:37 Set up over HIS head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Mat 27:38 There were two THIEVES crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
Mat 27:39 they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,
Mat 27:40 And saying, You that destroyed the temple, and build [it] in three days, save yourself. If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross.
Mat 27:41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking [him], with the scribes and elders, said,
Mat 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he is the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
Mat 27:43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
Mark 15:32 Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
Mat 27:44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
Luke 23:39 One of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If you are Christ, save yourself and us.
Luke 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Do you not fear God, seeing you art in the same condemnation?
Luke 23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
Luke 23:42 And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom.
Luke 23:43 And Jesus said to him, Verily I say to you, Today will you BE WITH ME IN PARADISE.
Giving up the Ghost
Mark 15:25 And it was the third hour, [when] they crucified him.
Matthew 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour
Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast you forsaken me?
Matthew 27:47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard [that], said, This [man] calls for Elias.
Matthew 27:49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
Behold Your Son
Matthew 27:55 And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him:
Matthew 27:56 Among which was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joses, and the mother of Zebedee’s children.
John 19:25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary the [wife] of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
John 19:26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith to his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
John 19:27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her to his own [home].
It Is Finished
John 19:28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
Matthew 27:48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled [it] with vinegar, and put [it] on a reed, and gave him to drink.
John 19:29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put [it] upon hyssop, and put [it] to his mouth.
John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished…
Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
Earthquake & Veil Torn
Luke 23:44 And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
Luke 23:45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in the midst.
Matthew 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
Graves Open Up
Matthew 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
Matthew 27:53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared to many.
Matthew 27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
Luke 23:48 And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned.
Him Whom They Pierced
John 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and [that] they might be taken away.
John 19:32 Then came the soldiers, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.
John 19:33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they did not brake his legs:
John 19:34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.
John 19:35 And he that saw [it] bare record, and his record is true: and he knows that he saith true, that you might believe.
John 19:36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him will not be broken.
John 19:37 And again another scripture saith, They will look on him whom they pierced.
Joseph Gets the Body
Matthew 27:57 When the evening came, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple:
Matthew 27:58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.
Matthew 27:59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
Matthew 27:60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.
Guards at the Tomb
Matthew 27:62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together to Pilate,
Matthew 27:63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
Matthew 27:64 Command therefore that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say to the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error will be worse than the first.
Matthew 27:65 Pilate said to them, you have a watch: go your way, make [it] as secure as you can.
Matthew 27:66 So they went, and made the sepulchre secure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.
