CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION
Mat 24:7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom and there will be famines [and troubles [also Mk13:8], and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. …8 All these things are the beginning of sorrows. [Luke 21:11 adds] and fearful sights and great signs will there be from heaven.
Mark 13:10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
DELIVER YOU UP FOR PERSECUTION
Luke 21:12 BUT BEFORE ALL THESE, they will lay their hands on you, and persecute [you], delivering [you] up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. [Mat 10:17 adds] … for a testimony against them and the Gentiles [also in Mark 13:9]
Mat 24:9 They will deliver you up to be afflicted, and will kill you: and you will be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate.
Mat 24:11 Many false prophets will rise, and will deceive many. 12 and because iniquity will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
Rev 12:12 Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.
Rev 12:17 And the dragon [devil] was wroth with the [Israel], and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Rev 13:7 And it was given to [the devil] to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth will worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
2 Tim 4:12 All that will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution 13 But evil men and seducers will wax [grow] worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
Mark 13:19 For [in] those days will be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created to this time, neither will be.
Mark 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he has chosen, he has shortened the days.
BROTHER AGAINST BROTHER
Mat 10:34 [Jesus said] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I did not come to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man’s foes will be they of his own household.
Mark 13:12 Now brother will betray [and deliver up 2Tim1:21] the brother to death, and the father the son; and children will rise up against [their] parents, and will cause them to be put to death.
Mark 13:13 And you will be hated of all [men] for my name’s sake: but he that will endure to the end, the same will be saved. Luke 21:18 But there will not a hair of your head perish. 19 In your patience you possess your souls.
Luke 21: 16 And you will be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolk, and friends; and [some] of you will they cause to be put to death. And you will be hated of all men for my name’s sake: [also in 2Tim1:22 adds] but he that endures to the end will be saved.
Mat 10:37 He that loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that takes not his cross, and follows after me, is not worthy of me. 39 He that finds his life will lose it: and he that loses his life for my sake will find it.
Mat 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Rev 2:10 Fear none of those things which you will suffer: behold, the devil will cast [some] of you into prison, that you may be tried; and you will have tribulation ten days: be faithful unto death, and I will give you a crown of life.
Mat 10:19 When they deliver you up, take no thought how or what you will speak: for it will be given you in that same hour what you shall speak. 20 For it is not you that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaks in you. Luke 21: 14 Settle [it] therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what you shall answer: 15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
2 Tim 1:23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee into another: for verily I say unto you, You will not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man comes.
Rev 12:10 And I [John] heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you that dwell in them.
John 16:1 These things have I spoken to you, that you should not be offended.
John 16:2 They will put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time comes, that whosoever kills you will think that he does God service.
John 16:3 And these things will they do to you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
John 16:4 But these things have I told you, that when the time will come, you may remember that I told you of them.
THEY HATED JESUS FIRST
John 15:18[Jesus said] If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before [it hated] you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love it’s own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Mat 10:32 Whosoever therefore will confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever will deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
2Tim 1:25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub [the devil], how much more will they call them of his household?
John 15:20 Remember what I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things will they do to you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. …
John 15:23 He that hates me hates my Father also. 24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. 25 But this comes to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. 26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send to you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceeds from the Father, he will testify of me: 27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.
Mat 10:26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that will not be revealed; and hid, that will not be known. 28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them will not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear you not therefore, you are of more value than many sparrows.
